It’s a great time for New Beginnings!
It has been a joy to meet with you all again and to see and hear our wonderful children as we return to school.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we introduced the new drop off and pick up routines.
Hopefully your little ones have settled in well and are enjoying the routine of school once again.
Please let us know about any concerns you may have and we’ll do all we can to resolve them.
PE- We just want to confirm that we have PE on a Tuesday- so please send the children dressed in their PE kit, please.

Monday 8th June
Dear Children, Parents & Guardians,
I hope you are all well and enjoyed the whit holiday. Welcome to Summer 2 – this is the final half term of the academic year. I want you to know that I am immensely proud of you during the time you have spent doing your school work at home!
I would like to thank each of you that post on Class DOJO – I love seeing your achievements – photos, videos and messages. Please keep this up – it brightens up my day and creates a beautiful portfolio for you. I will always reward you well with DOJO points!
In the meantime, I have posted an activity grid for this week and prepared another home-learning pack. Your pack is ready to pick up from school from tomorrow afternoon (9.6.20).
If you need any help – please send me a message on Class DOJO.
Sending you and your families big love – look after yourself, keep safe.
Love & prayers,

Summer Term update – Friday 24th April 2020
Dear Parents & Guardians,
As I sit here at home, I have watched and listened to my own children try to make sense of this crazy situation, I wanted to offer some words of support for you and your children during this increasingly challenging time. At The Holy Spirit in year 1 & 2 we believe every child is a gift to be cherished and we are privileged that you have allowed us to share in their learning journey, to know them and love them as you do.
At this time of huge uncertainty, we recognise that some children are just as anxious or scared as we are right now. They not only hear everything that is going on around them, but they feel our constant tension and anxiety. They, like us, have never experienced anything like this before. Although the idea of being off school may seem awesome, they are probably picturing a fun time like the summer holidays and not the reality of being confined to their homes and not seeing their friends and extended families.
I have tried hard to update Dojo and School Spider to ensure home learning, whilst curriculum based is as fun and accessible as possible. If you have any questions or need any help in any way please contact me via Dojo. I am still here to help and support your child. I love receiving messages, photos and mini videos of the work you have completed. I will reward your child well with DOJO points!
What your child needs now though is to feel safe and loved. To feel like it is going to be ok – which it is. So that may mean some days you have to abandon that ‘perfect’ schedule. Play outside in the garden, go for a walk, if it is safe to do so. Play board games and watch favourite movies from your own childhood. Bake cakes and write letters to loved ones you are not able to visit in person. Find a virtual field trip or start a book and read it together as a family.
Every single child in our country, wider even – the world is in the exact same position. When we are back in the classroom, we will all take stock and pick up where we are. I am expert at doing this on a daily basis! Don’t get stressed if your child does not want to do their work one day – think of other exciting things they can do instead and come back to it later. Learning opportunities are all around us. I know you will do your best and your child will thrive because of it.
If I can leave you with just one thing, it’s this; your child’s mental health will be more important than their academic skills. How they felt during this time will stay with them for much longer than the Maths or English lessons you are struggling to get them to complete. So keep that in mind, each and every day.
I hope to see you all soon and remember to be kind to yourself and each other.
Love & prayers,
