Reception Mrs J Crabbe 2019 - 2020

Mrs Crabbe

31st March 2020

Hi everyone : ),
I hope you're all keeping well and in good spirits.
I am so pleased to see all of your home-study photos and videos... You're all having a great time with fun activities, singing, dancing, arts and crafts, too. Brilliant!
I've just been informed of a great learning website, especially for learners of English as a second language. It's free to register and you can use a range of free resources, although not all of their resources are free. It is called Flash Academy https://flashacademy.com/resources
Also, some of you have been learning about Science with Maddie Moate's YouTube videos:
https://www.youtube.com/user/maddiemoate
They are live streaming Mon to Fri, every week, from 11 am, but they also have lots of other useful videos to access, if you don't like the topic of the day.
Keep up the good work everyone and if you need help with anything, you know how to contact me.
Best wishes,
Mrs Crabbe

27th March 2020

Hi everyone : ),
Hope you're all well, in good spirits and are continuing with your awesome learning and the photos and videos you've been posting on ClassDojo.
I just wanted to let you know that Chester Zoo are streaming live footage of the Zoo in action, every hour - on the hour, until 4 pm today. I'm struggling to find the link but if you go on their Facebook page you can watch the videos.
Best wishes,
Mrs Crabbe

Hi again,
Just wanted to share this website with you, as it has lots of ideas for practical, hands on activities to do at home, in addition to or instead of some of the resources you already have.

Have fun : ).

25th March 2020

Hi everyone : ),
Some of you have asked for advice on helping your child to read, so have a look at this website - it's really useful https://home.oxfordowl.co.uk/reading/what-is-letters-and-sounds/
The videos are great, too.
Active Learn https://www.activelearnprimary.co.uk/ and Oxford Reading Buddy https://www.oxfordreadingbuddy.com/uk are excellent websites too, as they have an amazing bank of books to enjoy.
Best wishes,
Mrs Crabbe

Here is one of my favourite stories, heart-warming and uplifting: 'Have You Filled A Bucket Today?' https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JEg38zCOMgk

Kindness is key : ). Hope you enjoy it! Keep safe and be a 'bucket filler'!

Best wishes,

Mrs Crabbe
