Operation Encompass

“In conjunction with Cheshire Police, The Holy Spirit Catholic Primary is involved in a new initiative called Operation Encompass.  The purpose of Operation Encompass is to safeguard and support children and young people who have been involved in, heard or witnessed a domestic abuse incident. Following such an incident, children will often arrive at school distressed, upset, worried and unprepared. Operation Encompass aims to ensure that appropriate school staff (called Key Adults) are made aware early enough to support children and young people in a way that means they feel safe and included.

At The Holy Spirit Catholic Primary our Key Adults are Mrs Lorraine Connolly (Acting Headteacher) Mrs Jenia Crabbe (Reception teacher)

This is a valuable initiative that means we can continue to support and help children and families within our school community when they need it the most.

You can find out more by visiting www.operationencompass.org, by downloading the document at the bottom of the page or by contacting our Key Adult.”

We enjoy sharing success by celebrating every achievement, however small.

We have a strong, positive belief that our school community can make a difference to our world at local, national and global levels.

Gospel Values

As a Faith school we journey together towards a deeping understanding of the Good News - The Gospel - Jesus.

By reading the Scriptures and receiving the Sacraments we begin our life long journey to grow in awareness of God's love for us, we learn to love ourselves and each other.

We learn about Jesus and the Gospel values he taught us. We learn how these values enrich out British values.

At the bottom of the page is a document that links the Gospel Vaules, Christian Virtues to British Values.

British Values

The Holy Spirit Catholic Primary School British Values The DfE have recently reinforced the need “to create and enforce a clear and rigorous expectation on all schools to promote the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs.” The Government set out its definition of British values in the 2011 Prevent Strategy, and these values have been reiterated this year (2015). At The Holy Spirit we actively promote British Values through our Mission Statement, Catholic ethos and Christian values. This underpins all our relationships, mutual respect, school policies, procedures and systems. We also actively promote the British values through ensuring that our curriculum planning and delivery includes real opportunities for exploring these values. As a Catholic school the gospel values are part of each and every lesson, interaction or relationship. They are central to our curriculum and help to educate our children and prepare them for life in modern Britain.
